Maryville University Welcomes Adam Hall as New Head Coach for Men’s Soccer

Hall brings an impressive record to take Maryville Athletics to new heights

[St. Louis, MO, February 7, 2024] – Maryville University is thrilled to announce the appointment of Adam Hall as the new head coach of the men’s soccer team. Hall is the 10th head men’s soccer coach in program history and makes his transition to St. Louis after spending the last eight seasons as the head coach at the University of Illinois Springfield.

Scottish born and raised, Hall brings a rich background in sports management and education to the university’s esteemed athletics program. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Sports Management from Martin Methodist College in Pulaski, Tennessee, in 2007. Following his undergraduate studies, Hall furthered his education by obtaining a Master’s Degree in Education from Wesley College in Delaware in 2010.

Throughout his career, Hall has been celebrated for his upbeat and encouraging attitude, which resonates well with student-athletes, faculty, and staff alike. He is a firm believer in the importance of faculty and staff involvement in student recruitment, advocating for a unified approach to attract individuals to Maryville for both academic and athletic opportunities. Hall’s philosophy centers on providing a holistic student experience that balances quality education with robust athletic support.

Hall’s impressive record showcases he is among the best of the best in men’s soccer. Some of his stats include:

  • Hall was selected as the GLVC Coach of the Year after leading UIS to an 13-1-7 overall record and a GLVC Regular Season Championship. He and his staff were also awarded the United Soccer Coaches Midwest Regional Staff of the Year.
  • Hall led UIS to their first GLVC Tournament appearance and first NCAA Regional ranking in program history.
  • Prior to his time at UIS, he spent two seasons as the head coach at St. Joseph’s College in Rensselaer, IN, leading the soccer program to a first-year record of 9-6-1, qualifying SJC for the GLVC Tournament for the first time in 20 years.
  • Hall’s start in coaching came as the U15 Junior Irish Soccer Club Head Coach where he was promoted to the club’s U13-15 Technical Director. He successfully promoted his team in three consecutive seasons to the ISL Premier League.

Hall is not only dedicated to his career but also to his family, sharing his life with his wife and three children. His role as a family man deeply influences his coaching style, emphasizing the well-being and personal growth of his student-athletes both on and off the field.
